Dave Game Over EP: Last year Santan Dave released he’s EP for digital download on the 3rd November 2017, some of the top hits on the EP are No Words (Featuring Mostack), Question Time and Game Over. Dave’s music has been very influential to the public eye by talking about their troubles the youth face in this time period of living in London, and how he believes young people don't get the opportunity to have their say and have actions taken place. Question Time is a song he wrote giving he’s views on politics and the British Government. He mentioned former Prime Minister David Cameron and President Donald Trump. J Hus Common Sense: Common Sense was released on the 12th May 2017 and is the debut album from J Hus, he released a mixtape in 2015 called the 15th day with singles like lean and bop but this album includes he’s top single “Did you see” the song peaked at number 9 on the Uk charts making it one of his best chart singles from his album. For my magazine I will need primary research because i'm giving my own opinion for one of  my articles, furthermore I may use sections of an interview in my articles and give my opinion on someones statements or views. My first article is based on rap music in London and my second article is on fashion because these two topics both are relatable, also artists I will be talking about are Santan Dave, J Hus and Stormzy I will give my opinions on all of their debut albums and their hit singles as well .

Proposal

Proposal: My first idea is a music magazine which is based around UK rap preferably in in East London, the reason I chose this as one of my ideas is that the majority of young people in East London have listened to rap music whether its trap or drill music, but the main idea is to review a specific artist or genre and then go into detail about a song or an album to help and give my target audience idea of what to expect from the artist or album. The review will be based on my opinion and possibly others as well but the majority of opinions will be from my perspective and views. My target audience is young people aged between 16-30 because mostly people within that age group listen to UK rap even though there will be a percentage of people are not in this age group either being younger or older than my target audience that may listen to UK rap. My second idea is fashion because fashion is everywhere you go and each year there are new fashion trends which have already been introd...

My poster was a finger print (which was my own) which i had sent to the scanner it was a primary image because in created it myself by using paint and my thumb print, I used special affects for my text i was bale to arch it in Photoshop furthermore I used a vector shape tool to cut out any unwanted pieces or shapes in my poster. In Photoshop i used the transformation tool to rotate my shape. The idea of my poster was to promote Reggae music and show show that as humans in the world we are all equal and that Reggae music is within all of us, this poster was also put on my website that I created it was Reggae themed and it gave a lot of information in different tabs on key points of the history and the genre of the music and popular artist. I also include top songs as video links on my website. I used primary and secondary images for my website which in turned into a gallery or a mood board in a sense to have visual captions and images of music, artists and the culture of Reggae. The w...

Research from Dele evolution of reggae

Jamaican folk music evolved into mento which is an updated version. it was acoustic and sung by old people shakers , guitars marimba. Ska upbeat and fast because people be dancing to it, overtime people got bored of it the slowed it down to rock steady before reggae, lovers rock very slow and romantic. Then it evolved to dance hall abashment. Reggae became very popular in the 1960's and is mostly lead by the drums and bass, the sound of the bass is thick and heavy. Reggae is known for talking about social criticism, religion: however some song talk about love and socialising. This was because during these times and the past there was a lot of issue among religion because of people choosing whether to be Rastafarian or not, furthermore there was a lot of war and fighting and the music would on stop it temporarily. Also as time passes and different sub genres of reggae were introduced people would get bored of the old genres barbecue of the sound and people couldn't dance and ...
